This week in Toronto, the PomeGran team was proud to sponsor and participate in the Fiber Broadband Association's Regional Fiber Connect in Toronto, a key event shaping the future of broadband in Canada.
On August 19, our leadership team shared their perspectives on stage:
• Dr. Kalai S. Kalaichelvan, CEO, PomeGran – Spoke during FBA programming on the importance of collaboration in building Canada's fibre future.
• Joe Hickey, President, PomeGran – Panel: "Fibre Economics in Canada: Enabling an Industry at Scale", focusing on sustainable approaches to nationwide deployment.
• Christine Marion, President, Digicom – Panel: "Fibre in Remote Locations – Deployment Challenges & Opportunities", highlighting strategies to overcome rural deployment challenges.
Programming also underscored the scale of Canada's connectivity push, with over $4 billion committed through federal and provincial programs, including more than $600 million already invested via ICON and $530 million directed to Northern and Indigenous communities. These commitments reinforce the momentum behind fibre expansion and the importance of building resilient networks for the future.
A huge thank you to the Fiber Broadband Association for hosting, and to all who joined us in Toronto. Together, we're advancing connectivity and building stronger communities across Canada.
