A Long History of ESG
PomeGran has a long-standing commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values that are deeply woven into the company’s mission. From launching the Women in STEM Scholarship Program, designed to empower the next generation of female innovators, to establishing the PomeGran Legacy Forest, an ambitious initiative to plant 50,000 trees in partnership with Evertreen and local farmers, PomeGran continues to prioritize sustainability and equity. Through its subsidiaries, PomeGran has championed numerous impactful initiatives across Canada, from bridging the digital divide in rural communities to supporting Indigenous connectivity projects and promoting responsible technology use. This integrated ESG approach underscores PomeGran’s belief that connectivity should drive progress not only economically, but socially and environmentally as well.
Sustainable Growth Backed by Local Engagement
At PomeGran, our subsidiaries share a deep-rooted commitment to the communities we serve. For over a decade, they’ve proudly supported local events like Summerfest in Cochrane, an annual celebration that brings residents and visitors together while boosting local engagement and economic activity. Contributions include donating equipment to facilities such as the Tim Horton Events Centre, where they also provide free internet access to support public connectivity.
This spirit of support extends across all our brands. Digicom sponsored the Lac St-Jean Golf Club Championship, celebrating local pride through sport. Canquest has supported youth sports in Chatham-Kent for over 30 years, helping young people build lasting relationships, confidence, and civic responsibility. CochraneTel has also sponsored numerous events and tournaments at Lee Golf Club, further enriching community recreational life.
Our subsidiaries are active in the healthcare sector as well. At Lady Minto Hospital, they provide complimentary television services in the chemotherapy room to enhance patient comfort. Community information channels are available in public libraries and travel centres, and public Wi-Fi is provided in downtown cores and event venues to strengthen digital inclusion.
Environmental stewardship is a key priority. In partnership with Quantum Lifecycle Partners, CochraneTel recycles outdated equipment to divert waste from landfills. Our subsidiaries also promote paperless billing, helping customers reduce their carbon footprint and support a more sustainable future.
These efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to being a responsible partner in the communities we serve. As our network grows, so does our dedication to supporting the social, environmental, and economic well-being of the regions that call us their provider.
