Rural neighbourhoods are now being upgraded.

 Cochrane, ON, CANADA (December 14, 2021) – CochraneTel is about to bring its first year as a part of the PomeGran Group of Companies to a close with some important news. Following on EION’s commitment to deliver better internet speeds to Cochrane’s rural neighbourhoods, CochraneTel is pleased to announce that this upgrade is currently underway and rural customers should see significantly increased speeds starting in January 2022.

The South Highway link is now complete and CochraneTel is targeting Genier and Frederickhouse within the next 5-6 weeks. “Our team was able to upgrade the infrastructure to expand the reach of rural customers, although there have been some challenges obtaining equipment for the network expansion exacerbated by supply chain delays caused by the pandemic,” stated Alain Tremblay, Operations Manager for CochraneTel. “We are confident that the network upgrade will offer higher speeds to our rural customers,” added Tremblay.

Customers in these areas should see a significant improvement in speeds as a result of newer and more efficient equipment that is being installed. Other areas targeted within the first quarter of 2022 are Concessions 2&3, Glackmeyer, Fletchers, Hanna and Abitibi.
