At the digital core of Canada lies a powerhouse: 151 Front Street West, Toronto. Known as Canada’s most connected building, this world-class carrier hotel hosts more than 150 network providers and serves as a vital hub for data and telecommunications traffic. For PomeGran, it’s more than a data centre, it’s a launchpad for our Nothern Ontario gigabit fibre deployment.
Connecting Our Gigabit Project to the Internet Core
PomeGran is building a next-generation fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, bringing true gigabit speeds to rural, remote, and underserved regions. That network connects directly to the backbone of the internet at 151 Front Street, where our cabinet sits at the nexus of Canada’s telecom infrastructure.
From this strategic location, we can:
- Route traffic through over 150 carriers and peering partners, including the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX).
- Deliver low-latency, high-capacity bandwidth to the communities we serve.
- Seamlessly interconnect with cloud providers and application partners to support smart homes, remote work, and digital inclusion.
Power Redundancy That Delivers Peace of Mind
151 Front’s power design includes dual utility feeds (A & B), lithium battery backup, and on-site generators with 2N redundancy. It means always-on connectivity for the networks we run, and uninterrupted service for the homes and businesses relying on our gigabit internet.
Smart Cooling with Sustainability in Mind
The facility uses deep lake cooling via the Enwave system, pulling chilled water from Lake Ontario to keep equipment running efficiently. This cutting-edge approach supports PomeGran’s commitment to environmental responsibility, while maintaining optimal temperatures in a dense colocation environment.
Security & Compliance
From biometric access and mantraps to 24/7 security personnel and CCTV, 151 Front Street offers Tier 1 physical protection. With SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS certifications, it’s trusted by banks, healthcare providers, and now, your local ISP.
Remote Hands, Real-Time Support
Even when we’re not physically on-site, our equipment is in good hands. The facility’s 24/7 remote hands service ensures hardware swaps, diagnostics, and physical reboots happen without delay.
Supporting PomeGran and Canquest
PomeGran’s infrastructure in the facility supports not only our own operations, but also that of Canquest, one of our group’s ISPs. Together, we’re extending gigabit-capable fibre to homes across Ontario and beyond.
Conclusion:
Our work at 151 Front Street isn’t just about routers and racks, it’s about people. It’s about the grandparents now able to video call their family without buffering. The student who can join a virtual classroom. The small business that can finally access cloud-based tools. And it’s all powered by infrastructure that begins at 151 Front Street West, Toronto.
At PomeGran, we’re not just building a network, we’re building Canada’s gigabit future.
