IoT sensor-based Weather System is integrated into EION’s SmartRIM Gen 3 to reduce OpEx costs for ISPs and Operators.
OTTAWA, ON, CANADA (February 22, 2021) — EION Wireless, a leading provider of wireless systems to Tier I operators, ISPs and enterprises, today announced that it is launching the Weather Station IoT Solution for its SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3, which can be co-located in the remote infrastructure operated by ISPs and telecom operators.
The Weather Station IoT Solution measures wind speed, wind gust, wind direction, outdoor humidity, temperature and rainfall. All measurements are time stamped and saved in a database. Users can view real- time graphs of the data from the Weather Station, using pre-configured data feeds on the MosaiQ Dashboard platform. There are algorithms in place to calculate hourly average and daily average of rainfall for each location.
“We are developing Machine Learning and AI algorithms to use real-time data from the weather station to predict future wind speeds and direction, which can be used by the Operations team.” stated Hanieh Moghaddasi, IoT Product Architect at EION Wireless.
