OTTAWA, ON, CANADA (December 16, 2021) — EION Wireless, a leading provider of wireless systems to Tier I operators, ISPs and enterprises, today announced that it is launching SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3, a LoRa-enabled device with a combined wired and wireless sensor-aggregation platform, co-located in the remote infrastructure operated by ISPs and telecom operators. SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3 can remotely monitor and manage telecom towers from the Network Operations Center (NOC), to primarily manage tower health and tower sway in heavy winds, and to also monitor infrastructure, such as remote buildings, storage warehouses and remote campus environments. SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3 is a carrier-grade, modular, sensor-aggregation platform that can be integrated with custom sensors and easily deployed in a geographically distributed national network infrastructure.
SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3, a LoRa-enabled IoT sensor solution, identifies tower sway in heavy winds and sends alarms to the NOC when there is an event trigger, along with measuring guy-wire tension. The LoRa-based sensor solution offers a coverage range of up to 20 km. It also monitors the tower and sends alerts on the health of telecom towers including: cabinet open/close, weather, temperature, humidity, etc. SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3 helps in the self-healing of the network with an auto-remote power relay system, eliminating truck rolls or manual resets.
EION’s SmartRIM 5000 Gen 3 is a 19-inch rack or table mountable, expandable IoT sensor aggregation system with carrier-grade hardware, customized sensors and firmware integrated with a GUI-based monitoring dashboard and the cloud-based network monitoring platform MosaiQ, for alarm notifications.

Trial customers have deployed multiple SmartRIM devices in their sphere of operations and manage the SmartRIM devices through the powerful cloud-based monitoring platform, MosaiQ, that comes with SmartRIM. These customers have witnessed a 30-35% decrease in truck rolls.
