Grant will transform Digicom from a Wireless Internet Pioneer to a leader in FTTH on six municipalities in the Outaouais region.
Alma, QC, CANADA and Toronto, ON, CANADA (May 25, 2022) – Digicom Inc. (Digicom) of Alma, Quebec is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant by the Quebec Government’s Secretariat for High-Speed Internet and Special Connectivity Projects, Ministry of the Executive Council, to provide Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) to 2056 homes.
The grant will enable Digicom to build a 277 km fibre backhaul FTTH network, to enable high-speed broadband providing a minimum speed of 50 Mbps/10 Mbps to 2056 households in six different communities in the province of Quebec are located in these municipalities: Alleyn-et-Cawood, Gatineau, La Pêche, Low and Val-des-Monts. The project completion date is September 30, 2022.

This deployment bridges the region’s digital divide by providing value-added services to households in desperate need of high-speed internet access. Together, we will make Quebec a world leader in regional connectivity,” stated Gilles Bélanger, Parliamentary Assistant to the Prime Minister (high-speed Internet).
